A Beginning
(continued from the homepage)
To wonder:
Where did other creators begin? What foundation and roots did other artists start with? Were they self-taught? College-educated? Naturally gifted? Lacking technical ability, funding, or even a place to begin? How does an artist—a creator—start in today’s world? How do they solve this endless... (fracture? blur? flood?) Do they mass-produce print-on-demand merchandise? Do they make custom, hand-crafted one-offs? How do they start to advertise? Do they pay for ads to flood the same endless platforms, joining the cycle of spamming and algorithmic noise? How does an artist stand out now? In a world of mass production, fan service, and analytics-driven culture, instant opinion sharing before understanding, there's no room to risk the judgement of something new—where what “sells” is often what’s already been seen,—There’s very little room to afford mistakes. Very little room to afford starting at all.
So I ask:
How do we, as humanity, assist artists and future creators in this AI-driven, digital, binary world? How do we allow art—and creativity—to flourish again? I say we combine them all. We start at the center of everything. We combine the collection that artists crave with the practice they need, with something the enjoyers of the journey can be a part of, with what we want to express. Name the practice pieces. Challenge ourselves to make them a collection, a story—the branch-off collections, our Opus Cordis—give them purpose, story, mythology.
Make them part of the larger whole. Let our enjoyers and the community feel connected. Challenge ourselves to see what we can create. Make the merch for those who want it, and tie a cause to it—
Let people know why we’re doing it, and what we’re creating. Show them who the artist really is.
Because getting started is the chaos of the first step. And knowing where to begin is... well... Khaos.
Creare ex nihilo, ex chao, ex corde
Create from nothing, from chaos, from the heart.
Fundraising, and a challenge to create in color.
A personal creative challenge of mine. To step outside my comfort zone—for all to see—is to create in color.
This is where I explore the meaning behind color—its relationship to creation, emotion, perception, thoughts, ideas, actions, and memory.
Not for beauty, or for design, but for language.
Color as feeling. Emotional perception.
To feel what you see.
This one’s about movement and stillness. Moving with no destination. Being still as the world turns. Some of this lives in resin, some in playlists, short clips, or photos. These pieces aren’t about answers. They’re about suspended moments.
Moments you can hold.
My Opus Cordis
A longform passion project—my dream as an artist. To sculpt the imagination of the myths and great stories of humanity, creators I meet, and people with vision but not always the tools, with feeling but not always the technique. I want to give shape to their ideas. To show what can’t be shown. This is about making ideas, memories, emotion, and pure imagination—turning into form.
